Gallagher’s recognition underscores Affinity’s focus on financial wellbeing and his role in delivering positive outcomes for members and communities

Affinity Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that Grant Gallagher, Director of Financial Wellbeing & Brand Communications, has been recognized with the 2025 Financial Wellbeing Champion of Champions Award by the Member Engagement & Financial Wellbeing Consortium jointly led by Callahan & Associates and Gallup.

“Since the very beginning, Grant Gallagher has set the standard for leadership in all three dimensions of the program,” said Chris Howard, senior vice president at Callahan & Associates. “A tireless advocate who engages and motivates others, advances financial wellbeing beyond the program itself, and is a standout collaborator and supporter among his peers in the Consortium.”

The Champion of Champions award is given to those individuals who consistently show creativity, perseverance, and generosity in their role and with their colleagues. These individuals have done more, for longer, and with greater results, setting the standard for what leadership and service mean in the credit union industry, and delivering positive, sustainable outcomes for their teams, their members, and their fellow Champions.

“I am honored to receive this recognition,” said Gallagher. “At Affinity, our mission has always been to support our members in meaningful ways, and this award reflects not just my work, but the commitment of an entire team dedicated to helping our members and communities thrive. Together, we’ve developed programs that provide lasting, positive impact.”

“Grant embodies what it means to put members first,” said Kevin Brauer, CEO of Affinity Federal Credit Union. “His creativity and passion for improving financial wellbeing set a standard not only within Affinity but across the industry. We’re proud to see his leadership recognized at a national level, and grateful for the positive impact he’s made on our members and communities.”

“The Credit Union Consortium is built on collaboration — empowering credit union employees to serve their members with passion, purpose, and impact. This happens through teams of Champions, dedicated individuals in every Consortium credit union who lead the charge. Together, they drive impact across the entire Consortium,” said Andrew Robertson, Principal at Gallup.

The Financial Wellbeing Champion of Champions Award is presented annually by the Credit Union Consortium, Callahan & Associates, and Gallup. The recipient is selected based on peer recognition, demonstrated impact, and a consistent record of leadership, creativity, and service across the Consortium.

About The Member Engagement & Financial Wellbeing Consortium

The Member Engagement & Financial Wellbeing Consortium is a multi-year transformation program led by Callahan & Associates in collaboration with Gallup. Designed to place member financial wellbeing at the center of credit union strategy, the program equips participating institutions to take mission-aligned, data-informed actions that deepen emotional engagement, build trust, and drive sustainable growth. Through collaborative learning, quarterly insights, behavioral research, and more, credit unions uncover blind spots, close gaps, and align resources where they matter most to better serve their members.
