Affinity Federal Credit Union President’s Invitational Raises $223,000 for the Affinity Foundation
This past June, Affinity Federal Credit Union hosted its Annual President’s Invitational at Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club in Whitehouse Station. In its 24th year, the outing raised $223,000 for the Affinity Foundation.
More than 110 golfers gathered to play the Par-71 championship course and the event was supported greatly by 43 corporate sponsors. “The outing surpassed the fundraising goal by 21%,” shared Karla Wallack, Executive Director of the Foundation. “It is heartwarming to see so many people come together to help people living in poverty.”
The generosity of the outing’s supporters helps to further the Foundation’s mission to improve financial wellness and enable self-sufficiency and expand the reach of its ongoing community programs. The Foundation’s current initiatives include the Member Relief Fund which provides emergency financial assistance to members, annual scholarship program that recently awarded $15,000 to local students, and charitable grants program that supports nonprofits aligned with our pillars. In 2023, the Foundation will be launching a multi-year grants program for select partners and an Individual Development Account (IDA) matched savings program.
