Giving Since 2005

The Affinity Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation established in 2005 to support charities in communities along the Affinity Federal Credit Union branch footprint. The Affinity Foundation is a separate, independent legal entity, incorporated in New Jersey and operated by Affinity Federal Credit Union employees.

Our mission is to help vulnerable populations thrive towards financial independence. We fulfill our mission by:

    • Empowering individuals by delivering free financial education
    • Investing grant-making dollars in grassroots organizations
    • Connecting charities with skilled volunteers to elevate their impact
    • Strengthening communities by providing the helping hand many don’t have

To sustain our programs, the Affinity Foundation hosts three annual fundraising events, including a golf invitational, casino night, and beer-tasting event to benefit military veterans.

In addition, the Foundation team coordinates volunteer opportunities for Affinity Federal Credit Union employees and members with our non-profit partners, including America’s Grow-a-Row, Interfaith Food Pantry, Pioneer Family Success Center, and more.

Our Impact

Since 2005, the Affinity Foundation has donated over $1 million in grants to dozens of nonprofit organizations throughout our branch footprint. In 2020, our Foundation:
    • Donated $101,800 in grants across 27 charities to support programs for financial literacy, workforce readiness, life skills, and transitional housing programs
    • Provided four student members of Affinity with $2,500 scholarships
    • Celebrated Affinity’s Members of the Year with $500 donations to each charity of their choice
    • Donated emergency grants of $500 each to nine food banks throughout New Jersey, New York and Connecticut
