To celebrate our commitment to the wellbeing of our members, Affinity hosted its annual Wellbeing Week from November 4, to November 8. Throughout the week, members had the chance to engage in activities centered on the five pillars of wellbeing—physical, mental, financial, career, and community. Each day highlighted one of these pillars through both in-branch and virtual events, making it easy for members to participate and find inspiration for their own wellbeing journeys.

Kicking Off with Physical Wellness

We kicked off the week in Lawrenceville with an energizing workout workshop led by Anthony Russomano of Mano Wellness1. Anthony shared tips for staying active and achieving fitness goals, followed by a virtual Q&A session in the evening where members asked questions about health, fitness, and wellness.

Focusing on Mental Wellbeing

The focus shifted to mental health on Tuesday, with members visiting our Basking Ridge, Bardonia, and New Haven branches receiving journals as part of a “Journal for Stress” giveaway. Midday, we hosted a webinar with experts from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, diving into emotional wellbeing strategies to help manage stress and promote mental health.

Empowering Financial Wellbeing

In Edison, members joined a seminar with Oscar Cordoba, who led a session on coping with financial stress. Additionally, Navicore Solutions2 presented a virtual webinar on debt management basics, offering members practical tools and insights to navigate their financial challenges confidently.

Supporting Career Growth and Development

On Thursday, we turned our focus to career wellbeing, with Dana Browning of Affinity’s People & Culture team hosting a seminar in Hillsborough. Following the seminar, Tammy Latif hosted a virtual event, “A Plan to Reach the Pinnacle,” providing attendees with actionable steps for professional growth and achieving career aspirations.

Strengthening Community Connections

We concluded Wellbeing Week with a day dedicated to community support. Members visited our branches to make final contributions to the NJ Food Cooperative Food Drive, extending our impact to those in need. To further celebrate community wellbeing, we released a special podcast episode, “Empowering the Communities We Serve,” featuring insights from the Affinity Foundation on fostering local connections and the power of giving back.

We are thankful to all our members who joined us during Wellbeing Week 2024. This week served as a powerful reminder of the importance of wellbeing, and we’re proud to support each of you on your journey.
