Affinity’s 2025 Wellbeing Awards Honor Champions of Community, Health, and Financial Resilience

Affinity Federal Credit Union proudly celebrated its 2025 Wellbeing Awards in May, recognizing individuals and organizations across New Jersey that are making meaningful contributions to the wellbeing of their communities. These awards reflect Affinity’s deep-rooted commitment to improving the financial, physical, and community health of the people it serves. Each honoree has gone above and beyond in advancing this mission, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
Community Wellbeing
Non-profit Miriam’s Heart was honored in the Community Wellbeing category for its tireless support of adopted and foster youth. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has embraced a holistic approach to care, focusing on healing and empowerment. Miriam’s Heart provides community-driven support systems that help children and families manage complex emotional journeys and build strong, stable foundations for the future.
In the individual category, Joann McEniry of EDGE New Jersey was recognized for more than 25 years of service advancing health equity and inclusion. Starting as a social work intern, McEniry rose through the ranks to become CEO Designee. Her leadership has helped transform EDGE from a small housing initiative into a statewide organization providing HIV services, LGBTQ+ support, harm reduction, and mental health care to thousands. Her work exemplifies what it means to build inclusive, stigma-free communities through innovation and compassion.
Physical Wellbeing
Therapeutic Touch by Kim, founded by Kimberly Redfern, received recognition for over three decades of personalized care to individuals with serious health conditions and the elderly. Kimberly’s model of in-home and in-office care reflects her commitment to meeting people where they are, both physically and emotionally. Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, she ensured continuity of care by finding safe ways to connect with clients and community. Her dedication to community health and education continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of her clients and neighbors.
Dr. Stacy Haynes was honored for her innovative wellness work at Rutgers University, Camden. A leader in promoting both mental and physical wellbeing, Dr. Haynes has spearheaded a number of creative programs, including the Thrive @ Nine Wellness Radio Show, Wellness Wednesday Workshops, and the Zen Den, a dedicated space for neurodivergent students. Her Augmented Reality Relaxation Stations use technology to make mindfulness more accessible, further demonstrating her commitment to inclusive, forward-thinking care.
Financial Wellbeing
Clever Girl Finance stood out for its efforts to empower women with accessible financial education. Founded by Bola Sokunbi, the platform offers free personal finance courses, articles, videos, and one-on-one mentorship aimed at helping women build confidence and make informed decisions about their money. Recognized as one of the top finance websites for women, Clever Girl Finance continues to break down barriers to financial literacy and create opportunities for long-term financial wellbeing.
Professor Tracy Rimple, Associate Professor of Business at Raritan Valley Community College, was named the individual Financial Wellbeing honoree for her work empowering students with essential financial knowledge. Rimple’s leadership extends far beyond the classroom. She hosts Financial Reality Fairs and digital literacy programs and volunteers with the New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education. Rimple has helped countless individuals gain the tools they need to manage their finances with confidence.
This year’s Wellbeing Awards shine a light on the power of grassroots efforts, visionary leadership, and community engagement. Each honoree demonstrates the values that Affinity Federal Credit Union champions every day. These individuals and organizations serve as a reminder that real, lasting change often begins with care, compassion, and the courage to take action.
