85th Annual Membership MeetingThursday, May 28, 2020 at 5:30 PM Join Us on May 28, 2020March 20, 2020 Dear Affinity Member, The 85th Annual Meeting of the Membership of Affinity Federal Credit Union will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 5:30 pm at 73 Mountainview Boulevard, Basking Ridge, NJ. During the business meeting, the election of Directors will take place and results will be announced. The election of Directors will be conducted by mail ballot, unless there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. In accordance with the Credit Union bylaws, when the number of nominees equals the number of vacancies, nominees are considered elected by general acclamation. If a mail ballot election is required, ballots will be mailed to eligible members by April 12, 2020. To be eligible to vote, members must have a minimum of $5 in a membership eligibility account, be at least 16 years of age and be a member in good standing as of March 31, 2020. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the Annual Meeting. Nominations for election may be made only by the Nominating Committee or by petition. Petitions for nomination must be signed by one percent of the Membership and accompanied by a signed certificate from the petitioner stating that he or she is agreeable to being nominated and will serve if elected. Each petitioner must also submit a statement of qualifications and biographical data with his or her petition. Completed petitions must be received by the Credit Union’s office at 73 Mountainview Boulevard, P.O. Box 621, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, by midnight April 20, 2020. To be considered for a position on the Board, candidates must possess a strong willingness to serve, plus significant financial, managerial and leadership expertise. Each person must be willing to dedicate much of his or her time and energy to this volunteer position. Credit Union members John McGovern, Joseph Herbst and Gregory Simpson served on the 2019-2020 Nominating Committee; I served as the Committee Chairman. The Nominating Committee’s primary responsibility is to recommend candidates deemed most qualified to carry out the Credit Union mission. Nominees have been selected from those members who applied in response to the “Call for Volunteers” that went out to all Affinity Members late last year. Nominee selections were based upon demonstrated leadership qualities and their commitment to the goals of the Credit Union. There are three positions to be filled, and the Nominating Committee has nominated three candidates, whose names and brief biographies appear below. Sincerely, John McGovern Chairman, Nominating Committee Affinity Federal Credit Union Board of Directors The Nominating Committee has nominated the following individuals to serve on the Board of DirectorsIncumbents for a 3 year term Nancy Barone, Director Nancy Barone is Vice President of Development, Volunteer and Guest Services at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. She was formerly the Executive Vice President of Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation, Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations Senior Development Officer and was with Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation in Beaufort, SC. Previously, Ms. Barone held numerous leadership positions with Lucent Technologies and AT&T. Ms. Barone has a B.S. in education from Central Michigan University and has completed master’s coursework at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey. She achieved Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), holds a Product Management and Marketing Certification from Wharton School of Business, and Project Management Certification from George Washington University. Ms. Barone serves as Chair of the Monmouth Ocean Development Council Board of Directors and serves as an Honorary Commander at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Previously, Ms. Barone served on the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Development Committee, Woodbridge Economic Development Committee and the board of the Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the Economic Development Commission and Technology Committee in Beaufort County, South Carolina and is a former President of the Junior League of Monmouth County. Nancy has been serving on the Affinity Board since 2011 and resides in Brielle, New Jersey. Richard Meene, Vice Chairman Rich Meene has worked for the accounting firm of PwC LLP since 2001 progressing from his entry level Advisory Associate position to his current level of Director. Rich works with Boards of Directors and executive management teams of business that range from small all the way up through fortune 500 status. Rich’s specialty practice area is in Forensic Services which deals with corporate investigations and the controls environments which facilitate regulatory compliance. While this is Rich’s specialty area, he works across PwC’s Advisory service areas and also provides expert assistance in matters dealing with mergers and acquisitions, process improvement, organizational change management and strategic planning. Rich also serves as the National Director for Membership and Outreach for PwC's Abilities and Allies Employee Resource Group with focuses on diversity and inclusion concerns for professionals with disabilities. Rich’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Rich has been on the Board since 2014 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman. Roger Tashjian, Director Roger Tashjian is a the founder and principal of 201 Marketing and Media, LLC a full service marketing agency based out of River Edge, NJ. 201 Marketing was recently rated #12 by NJ Biz Magazine on their list of Largest Advertising Agencies in NJ. Some of their clients include: The Melting Pot Restaurant, AFC Urgent Care and Keller Williams to name a few. Roger’s commitment to Affinity speaks for itself. Roger has been a member of Affinity for over 25 years. Roger’s formal education includes a B.S. in Marketing and Finance and M.B.A. Lehigh University. His corporate experience includes AT&T, CBS Radio and Omnipoint Communications (now T-Mobile). Roger and his family live in Oradell where he currently a second-term Councilman and formerly served 4 ½ years on the regional board of education.
